    NAPOLEON GZ552 - NZ62 - B440-KT - W062-0005 REPLACEMENT FIREPLACE BLOWER FAN

Posted by Daniel Lindgren on 25th Mar 2022

I was very pleasantly surprised. I called around town on a Friday, and could only find one place that would get back to me on Monday with a price. I ordered the part, and to my surprised, it was delivered on Saturday afternoon! I installed the part, and so far so good! When the other place got back to me on Monday, the cost was over twice what I paid, and it would take a week to ship.

Great Product - Performs Well & Cost effective

Posted by Michael Freehill on 1st Jan 2018

I heat a two-level house in northern wisconsin ... 1400 sq ft on each level via two gas powered Napoleon fireplace inserts ... one on each level. They do a great job. To do so, they run almost continuously ... upper level 18 hours a day and lower level maybe 20 hour a day. These blowers provide good air circulation and are equally quiet as the original. They last about a full year and then are replaced due to bearing freeze-up. Given their continuous performance in keeping our house warn and snug, I am completely satisfied. I am getting to be fairly fast at the replacement process ... and recommend you replace the wing-nut that holds the blower in-place ... replace the wing nut with a neoprene lock nut. It will make tightening your blower much easier and more secure. You will be able to reach the nut more easily with a 9 or 10 inch extension on a ratchet handle. All the best ... Mike

    Bit noisy

Posted by Unknown on 1st Feb 2017

Works well and fits but definitely noisier than the OME fan it replaced. ------------------------------------------ MyFireplaceBlower Response: This fan is always on full speed when you turn in on. An option is to connect a Variable Speed Control to the blower, this will allow you to turn the speed down and there will be less air-movement noise.

Perfect Fit & Performance for Napoleon GDI-44N Natural Gas Fireplace Insert

Posted by Unknown on 22nd Dec 2015

Our Napoleon GDI-44N Fireplace Insert is 4-years old. It heats the entire first floor of our Northern Wisconsin home. It runs 12 to 18 hours a day. The blower's bearings began to screech so I searched online for a replacement. Read many reviews. Decided on the GZ552 from MyFireplaceBlower.com for its specs … roller bearings, 110 cfm output, good reviews, detailed installation instruction pdf and ability to buy just the blower for around $70. Our temperature sensing automatic on/off switch did not need to be replaced. Delivery was made within two days (they are in Wisconsin). Installation went reasonably smoothly per instructions. The blower appears to work identically to the original. Output is the same. it's equally quiet. The project required 4 1/2 hours start to finish, including cleaning the fireplace insert and glass. Installation tips (1) To get access to the blower compartment, remove the 6-8 bolts along the lower seam at the back of the fireplace behind the biggest log. (2) Then lift the entire floor-pan by grabbing it at its back seam. Lift it up from the back and hinge it forward … it hinges on metal slots at the front of the fireplace … Lift the entire floor-pan out thru the front of the fireplace. (3) You will then see the blower compartment door on the back wall (about 5x10 inches in size). (4) Take the door off … Disconnect the two electrical wires (noting which go where) … Remove the blower's wing nut on the left side … Slide the blower to the left to remove it from its metal slot on the right side … Then twist the blower until it will slide thru the door opening … Easy does it, it will come out. (5) Remove the mounting plate from the old and screw it to the new blower. (6) Vacuum the compartment, slide the new blower in (don't forget the sound deadener between the mounting plate and the fireplace wall) ... Slide the mounting plate into the metal slot holder on the right, then fasten the wing nut over the stud mounting on the blower's left … It's a tight fit … Be patient ... Tighten the wingnut to ensure secure ... but be sure the electric wires will reach the blower leads before tightening the wingnut. (7) Reconnect the electric wires. (8) You cannot test the blower by plugging in the electric and turning the on switch. The blower will not run until after the fireplace is reassembled, a fire lit and temperature has risen after 5-10 minutes. (9) So you must reassemble the fireplace, relight the pilot and start the fireplace ... the new blower should turn on 5-10 minutes after a fire has been lit. The on/off switch works automatically based on temperature. Overall a good deal and works well.
