    Projects the fireplace heat!

Posted by Major Simmons on 27th Mar 2021

Fireplaces are beautiful, but useless if they do not heat the room. This blower does this and installs very easily and quickly (NOTE: View the installation directions in color).

    Updated review hum solved

Posted by Richard on 17th Mar 2021

My earlier review gave this 4 stars because of 60 cycle hum. I incorporated a "buck transformer" (see youtube link) of the voltage mentioned in the link with a 2 amp secondary. Viola! The hum has nearly disappeared. One must be sure the polarity of the output cancels part of the line voltage and the hot leg, not the neutral is "bucked". DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I make no comment or recommendataion regarding electrical standards.

    60 cycle hum

Posted by Richard on 16th Mar 2021

I like this fan, except for a 60 cycle hum that is mostly noticeable on low speeds. The ball bearings are really smooth. This draws 0.94 amp compared with my old fan at 1.15 amp. The old one is not very smooth, so I'm thinking the extra amps go into noise. Installing this was easy once I realized that I had to remove the fireplace glass front in order to get enough clearance to get it in the tight fitting opening.

    Works well

Posted by Leah on 1st Mar 2021

I am very pleased with this blower. It makes a sound but is not obnoxious. Louder than the forced air heat in my house, but not so loud that you have to turn the TV up. I installed it when my husband was gone and he didn't realize it was on when he got home so pretty quiet. Works really well to make our fireplace actually heat the room. Before, our gas fireplace was just for looks but now it actually warms the room. It was easy to install. It takes about 10 minutes after the fireplace is on for it to start up (I did move the sensor to a spot that felt warmer instead of the place that instructions recommended. Very happy with my purchase!

    GFK-160A FirePlace Blower Fan Kit

Posted by Edward Vitek on 24th Feb 2021

Excellent customer service! Three Items: 1. Add padding to rear of blower motor frame which would be equal to desired spacing recommendation distance - it could also dampen rear fireplace insert from vibration if fan abuts the rear insert wall. 3. The speed regulator could use an update for the nut- use a threaded nut and and threaded regulator shaft. Current nut cuts into plastic shaft housing to form threads. 3. Suggest location where the thermostat is best placed: at rear middle of fire pan for most Heat N Glo? (

    Fireplace Blower Fan

Posted by Steve on 2nd Feb 2021

The fan is exactly as described. I had watched the installation video, which was very helpful. It was relatively easy to install. We were concerned about how long it would take the firebox to heat up to needed temp to activate the fan. It did take about 7-8 minutes and our outside temp was about 44°. The fan worked perfectly and really makes a difference in heating our living room. We are very happy with this product.

    Easy installation

Posted by Matt on 20th Jan 2021

Adding this blower to our fireplace was very easy. Everything needed for the installation came with the blower and I had it up and running within 15 mins. The blower is a little loud at 100% in an open floor plan. If you set the fan speed to 50-60% it still provides ample heat with much less fan noise.

    Save the labor costs

Posted by Daniel on 18th Jan 2021

First and foremost, check and make sure your fireplace supports a blower and has the appropriate power supply. Once it came in (fast and free shipping!) It took me no time to set it up. It was a little tight, but after a bit of wiggling I got it set and hooked up. It comes on about 15 minutes after my fireplace starts, thanks to the temperature sensor and shuts off when it cools down so no warm air is wasted! Neighbor paid over 350 for a similar blower and install, I paid half and got the same thing. Very happy with my purchase.
