    Awesome Product

Posted by James Stoddard on 28th Nov 2018

The install went exactly like the instructions for the model of fireplace. Did not have to spend extra money on an electrician or handyman to do the install. The safety measures were followed and happy with the product.

    Good Product

Posted by Bill W on 11th Nov 2015

This is as advertised, a good quality product. My only complaint was the challenge to install it into a pre-existing fire place. It was a tight fit with many sharp challenges. I also had to get creative with my electrical outlet as it too was smaller than an regular outlet (and un-grounded) and my fire place utilizes a plugged in transformer that takes up a lot of room. It's in and works well. Runs nice and quiet too.

    A Bit noisy

Easy to install, works fine... but a bit noisy... louder than the same one I have in my other fireplace

    Great Product

Posted by Dion on 9th Jan 2013

The product itself is great and works exactly as expected. The issues I had were that my fireplace had a 2 prong plug instead of the 3 prong that this unit comes with so I had to make my own. Also, the instructions are VERY unclear about how to install this thing. You don't need to remove anything or unscrew anything from your fireplace. You simply open the bottom panel (where you light the pilot and turn on the gas, etc.) and slide this thing in on the left side. The large plate with the foam padding will sit flush against the back of the fireplace. The motor part of the blower should be pointing to the right, so put the motor end in first and then turn it. The little squared notch that is on the motor end of the large plate fits into a little notch at the back of the fireplace. This little notch is directly in the center. The blower does not sit in the center of the fireplace, but to the left side. Once you have the right end in, you should find a stud to put the left side on. The wing nut that came with my blower kit did not fit the stud that was in my fireplace. I removed the stud, took it to Home Depot and got the right one. One last thing... Mounting the temperature sensor in the recommended location, on the left side of the unit on the angled wall, does not work for me. It never heats up enough to kick the blower on. I let it run for over an hour and it never kicked on (this was with my gas turned up all the way to make sure it got nice and hot). I tested the sensor because I though it might be bad by taking a lighter to it to heat it up and it kicked on almost immediately. I'm not sure where I will mount it, but the only way I've gotten it to kick on is by holding the sensor to the inside metal box that contains the logs and actual flame for it to get hot enough. In the recommended location it sits about a half an inch away from the inside metal box, which seems to be too far, especially since it is located on the side of the unit. This area doesn't heat up nearly as much as the unit does towards the center. I tried mounting it to the stud that the blower mounts to, but that didn't work either. After I figured out what to do, the blower was pretty easy to install, but the instructions for installing stunk. The manual for the fireplace itself wasn't helpful either. Hopefully what I've written here helps someone out.
